By Myself

It's time to be by myself again
for right now I can't seem to win
the game of relationships I try to play.
But as I watch others have their way
it's time to be by myself again.

My phone stays silent in my spacious den
with no lovers to call wondering how I've been.
Another night leads to another day.
It's time to be by myself again.

At times I get encouragement from family and friends.
They say, "Your time will come.  Just wait until then."
But waiting was what was suggested yesterday
I guess those same words bring the same result today.
It's time to be by myself again.
