When the grips of winter
lets go of its hold on the city
and is replaced by the
gentle touch of spring,
that will make her smile.
Finally, she can go outside
and rendezvous with her
dear little haunts of downtown,
those places untouched
by the too rapid pace of progress,
taking pictures along the way
of the little treasures she finds,
those images unseen
by the city traffickers,
buzzing ever so quickly along
the urban landscape trying
to make the next destination on time.
But she takes her slowly
and comes out from her playground
with a full gallery of
her city.

Great sense of the personal here, from the main character to the city.
The city at play come a spring day, great sights indeed, nice write.
nice...the world is full of wonderful things to capture be it with camera or poetry....the city especially you know...so much goes unnoticed...i try to take it slow myself...
What a wonderfully rich portrayal of a person I wish I knew. The city's former residents must indeed have those special places they love to revisit and capture in photos to take home and put in scrapbooks so they can become the living history of a city that once was and now is in their lives. Lovely write.
"she" sounds a little familiar.... :)
I agree with Joanna. I immediately thought of "her" when I read the first few lines.
